I'm a SF-based Product Designer. I'm crazy about photography and burgers among other stuff! I just wanted to introduce myself and I figured that answering the same questions than my heroes could be a good way to do so :)
I hope you'll enjoy this blog and feel free to get in touch if you want to talk about superheroes and stuff.
Is Product Designer my dream job?
Yep, I think it is! I’m about to start a new professional life by joining Facebook in October 2015. I’m so excited about that. This is a dream come true and I just can’t wait to start.
I’ve always loved Design but I never thought I could be able to be part of a huge company like Facebook. I want to build a career, improve my skills, meet talented people, share my ideas.
Ask me in a year what I think about my situation, but I guess my thoughts will be pretty much like that:
I love what I do!!!
The design world is wide open for new possibilities and challenges. It constantly evolves and I look forward to discover what comes next.

How/when did I realize that this was my destiny?
I guess design found me. I wasn’t sure about what I wanted to do after high school. I wanted to be a photographer or a journalist. Along the way, after several life events, I ended up studying design and working as a designer. It felt right at that time. Some people believed in me and in my work and after that it was easy to focus on my career path.
I guess I realize every day, over and over again, that design is my thing. I truly love that. I’m happy when I play with pixels, I’m happy when I have a new idea/concept and I get to do what I love on a daily basis, nothing can beat that feeling. I’m lucky to live my passion.
What is my other secret passion?
If only I could have only one passion…it would be way easier to answer this question. I’m the kind of person who has too many different hobbies for one life. Beyond design, I have at least 4 other pastimes.
▸ Photography. I started pretty early in my life with my parents’ cameras and it became a part of my everyday life. I’m always carrying a camera with me just in case something worth the shot. I love both digital and analog photography but to me, film will always beat pixels because it’s more tangible.
▸ Baking. Since I'm spending a lot of time home (while waiting for my VISA) I have the chance to improve my baking skills. I love that because it’s relaxing and most of all I enjoy giving people smiles with their favorite desserts…and also we have pretty good pastries and breads in France, it’s kind of a head start for me ;)
▸ Games. All kind of games: video games, board games, basketball games…
I love competition and challenge! There’s no better way to get my mind off of something that bothers me.
▸ Music. I love to sing…when I’m alone at home or in my car. I used to dream I could be part of a band. That’s probably the most 'secret' of all my passions.
Who was my favorite superhero/villain growing up? Why?
The answer is gonna seem odd but my favorite villain of all time is Harley Quinn.
For those who don’t know her:
I love the complexity of her character. She’s torn between evil and good and her history is really deep and interesting. Her craziness comes from this inability to trust herself and to choose her life path. She’s a nice person but the Joker keeps pushing her to the dark side.
She’s loyal and has nice fighting skills. She’s funny and always happy but also insanely clever. Her love for the Joker is limitless but she totally could live by herself if it wasn’t for her lack of self-confidence.
I think I’ve always admired super-villains…not because of their acts (it’s bad and they don’t deserve forgiveness) but because of their histories. I think I can find something touching about all of them and I like to believe that there’s always a little good in everyone.
What's my favorite place/environment to do what I love?
I guess it depends on the kind of work I have to do.
When I’m working on pixels, doing UI or illustrations, I love being in a place with people around. I spend a lot of time in coffee shop (even if I don’t drink coffee). I enjoy the smell, the wooden tables, the ambient music and the sound of passionate conversation all around me.
If I’m writing or thinking about product matters, I prefer a more quiet environment. A cabin in the middle of nowhere with a fire pit and a rocking chair.
I fell in love with one of them in Oregon where I spent Christmas holiday with friends.
Do you have a favorite object, like a lucky charm or something that really matters to you?
Objects are important to me. Not because of what they worth, but because of what they mean to me. I keep a lot of goods, it reminds me tons of memories every time I look at them.
If I had to pick one, I would say my Canon A-1. This is one of the first things I bought when I arrived in San Francisco. I want to capture every important moment on films. I want to build memories now for the future.
Also, I have this weird addiction to notebooks so, I'm always carrying one in my bag!
What is your personal Kryptonite?
The first thing that comes in mind is my lack of self-confidence. I’m working on this issue every single day of my life. I wish I could be more proud of myself and forgot my fear of being ‘not good enough’.
Oh and I’m also vulnerable when I’m around food…especially cookies and pizzas. ;)
Who would you choose as a sidekick to fulfill your passion in the real life? Why?
Without a doubt, Robin. Even if I admire the work of a lot of people, he is my favorite designer in the world. Not because he is my husband, but because our skills and abilities are complementary. He has this strong attention for details, a rigorous organization and a constant positivism. These qualities are something I’m looking for in a design sidekick.
I often ask for his feedback on my projects and he does the same with me. I have to admit…it’s sometimes hard to work with him because being life/pixels partners could be over passionate but at the end of the day I know that we’re perfect together!
What is your definition of a modern hero?
In my mind a modern hero is:
▸ Someone who cares about others.
▸ Someone who inspires people by doing what he/she loves.
▸ Someone who gives hope without even trying.
(…and someone who wants to appear on People over Heroes)
One more thing…Mask or Cape?
Mask. I love this idea of an anonymity when you’re a hero. If you decide to do something good, you don’t care about the credits, you do it because you have/want to.
Also, the outfit could be pretty great with a mask, it brings mystery and I love that! 😎
